Today we honor those who have served in our Armed Forces and from everyone at BioMetric Impressions we would like to say, thank you!
At the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month, major hostilities of WW1 were formally ended and marked the complete defeat of Germany in 1918. Originally called Armistice Day the holiday was renamed Veterans Day in 1954. The following is from a speech given by President Woodrow Wilson:
“To us in America the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service, and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of nations.” – (President Woodrow Wilson 11-11-1919)
