To check the status of your PERC fingerprints you will follow these simple steps:

  • Click here to look up your fingerprint results via the IDFPR PERC Fingerprint Result page
  • Type your last name, first letter of your first name and your Social Security Number.
    • If you’re a Jr, Sr, III, etc.. or you have two last names without a hyphen, you will need to type it together with your last name. (ie. Smithjr, Smithiii, Smithsr, SmithJohnson)
    • If you have a hyphen, you will need to include the hyphen when you search for your results (ie. Smith-Johnson)
  • If it says “Eligible” AND you have submitted your PERC application online, you may start working.
    • To Submit your PERC application online ask your employer or click here
    • Once IDFPR completes your application they will email you the information needed so you may print your PERC. They no longer mail the PERC.
  • If it says “Pending” you will need to contact the IDFPR at (800)560-6420
    • If they tell you that they are missing part of all of the fingerprint results, please contact the Illinois State Police at [email protected]
    • If the Illinois State Police says to have the vendor resubmit the fingerprints, please forward the email to us at [email protected]
  • If nothing comes up, please send an email to the Illinois State Police at: [email protected]
    • Please include your Full Name, TCN number and ask them for a status update

Please note:

  • Fingerprint results usually take 24-72 hours to get processed by the Illinois State Police and the FBI.
  • If there is something on your record or ISP/FBI need more information with your background check, it can take 30-45 business days
